My beloved Godmother, Gisela Bonds was an actual contestant on Queen for a Day. She was a "war bride" from Berlin. Basically, the contestants would give their sob story (hers was that her father was dying in Germany and she couldn't afford to get home to see him.) Anyway, she was runner-up and guess what the prize was? A case of cigarettes and toilet paper! Queen for a Day. You know, if someone wanted, they could start the day with the mindset that they are indeed the Queen and isn't it a wonderful secret. Of course, be nice to the common folk. Have a great day Queenie.
